Application Story: Impellers For Food-Grade CNC Pump Impellers

The customer need was to produce food-grade aluminum pump impellers, first specifying machinery for die casting of the parts. Upon reviewing the usage, we recommended aluminum 6063 for its corrosion resistance and formability properties and food grade compliance. The components were formed by cold extrusion to maintain the properties of the material before finally machined by CNC in order to reach their final dimensions. Product delivery 1,000 pcs impellers was well received by the client and it was tested up to expected performance (and according to regulations).
