Every shaft is machined to customer drawings using aerospace-grade Ti-6Al-4V or high-strength steel, and then is checked for runout, straightness and fatigue-critical features.

Materials & Treatments For Aerospace Rotor Shafts

Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5 Titanium) – this is also an aerospace grade which can boast of its high strength-to-weight-ratio, as well as corrosion and fatigue resistance.

Aerospace alloy steel (4140, 42CrMo) – good strength and thermal stability for high load rotor shafts.

Shafts may be of forged or billet if stiffness, fatigue life and thermal concerns dictate. We will supply full QC-documentation, including material certificates, dimensional check and runout readings.
