Case Study
One customer needed a 6082 T6 bell machined from forged stock, hard anodized with 60 ±10 μm and subsequently hot-water
sealed. Their main focus was dimensional stability at around 150°C, in the region where their brake system functions.
We also covered forging direction, wall transitions, predicted thermal expansion and post-anodizing tolerances.
Machining sequences were modified to maintain runout and flatness after heat cycling. The high quality Custom Brake Disc Bells met
installation tests and the project was put into repeat production.
